DESCRIPTION:Guns & Hoses Lake Travis Fire Rescue\, Lakeway Police Dept. and Bee Cave Police Dept.\n\n \n\n\n\nChief Todd Radford\, Lakeway Police Department\n\n\n\nExperience:\n\nTodd started his law enforcement career in 1987 with the Travis County Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Deputy\;\n\nIn 1999 he joined the Texas A&M University System\, Texas Engineering Extension Service as a law enforcement instructor. While at Texas A&M\, he was reassigned to the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center   to research\, develop and deliver a course on Domestic & International Terrorism focusing on Threat and Risk assessments to cities across the USA.\n\nIn 2005 he joined the Texas Attorney General's Office as the Director of Training\;\n\nIn 2007 Todd was hired by the Lakeway Police Department as the Lieutenant of Patrol Operations\;\n\nIn October of 2009\, he was appointed as the Chief of Police for the City of Lakeway\, where he is today! He is viewed by his peers as a progressive minded and forward thinking leader\, always looking for strategies to keep this community safe\; looking for ways to develop his staff and always seeking opportunities to partner with the people and organizations within the community! \n\n\n\nEducation:\n\nTodd holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration\; a Master's of Science degree in Executive and Strategic Leadership and is completing a second Master's of Science degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University. He is recognized by the State of Texas as a master level peace officer. \n\nEngagements:\n\nTodd is serving his third term as the President of the Capitol Area Law Enforcement Executives Association\; He is the Training Committee Chairman for the Texas Police Chiefs Association of Texas\; he serves on the LTISD Student Health Advisory Committee\; founder of the Lakeway Police Foundation and he serves on other boards/committees in our area.\n\nHe is a nationally recognized speaker on a variety of law enforcement and leadership topics. He teaches regularly for the FBI-- Law Enforcement Executives Association\, Homeland Security in D.C.\, the Texas Police Chiefs Association of Texas and for many other public/private organizations.\n\nHe has been married to Rita for 25 years and they have two young men\, Taylor 23 and Kelby 22.  \n\n \n\n\nGary Miller Bee Cave Chief of Police\n\n\n\nChief Gary Miller was officially sworn in by Mayor Murphy at the regular City Council meeting held Tuesday\, September 9th\, 2014.  Chief Miller leads our Bee Cave Police Department after previously overseeing the City of Boerne\, Texas Police Department for 22 years.  He also served recently as the Kendall County Sheriff's Department as Chief Deputy.  Chief Miller started his law enforcement career in 1975 joining the University of Texas at Austin Police Department\, then McAllen Police Department in 1976 until he was hired as Chief of Police in Boerne in 1989. He holds a Master's Degree in Justice Administration and received a BS in Law Enforcement from Southwest Texas State.  He was the Director of the Texas Police Chief's Association\, Region 7 for nine years as well as the President of the Alamo Area Police Chief's Association in 2012.  \n\n \n\n\n\n\nBattalion Chief Jeremy Petersma\, Lake Travis Fire Rescue\n\n\n\n\n\nBattalion Chief Jeremy Petersma has dedicated the last 16 years of his professional firefighting career to serving others within the Lake Travis community. He has served as a Firefighter/EMT\, Engineer and Lieutenant before being promoted to Battalion Chief in June of 2014. \n\n\n\nHe holds a Hazardous Material Technician certification and serves as the Training Chief over technical rescue operations. Chief Petersma was a founding member of the Safety Squad\, which celebrates its 13th year of providing life safety education to the Lake Travis ISD/Leander ISD elementary children. In his current role as a Chief in the North Battalion\, he is responsible for emergency operations\, staffing and the marine division. Chief Petersma is also one of the current members of the Lake Travis Honor Guard. \n\nChief Petersma resides in the Johnson City area. He is a graduate of the Lakeway Police Department Citizen's Academy and a graduate of Leadership Lake Travis\, Class 007. \n\n\n\nWhen not leading others\, he enjoys spending time with his wife Candi and their two children\, Mackenzie and Brock. His hobbies include hunting\, fishing\, coaching his children's sports and working on their new Hill Country property.
